THE REUNION.

well since i can't fall asleep (again. le sigh~ ) i shall blog about my reunion dinner :)
pretty simple affair, as per previous years. had ours at Tung Lok @ Vivo this year.
photos are pretty self-explanatory, and i'm too lazy to put captions... so here we go!
p/s: i was superbly sleepy because i only slept for 3 hours the night before and had a long day in school before the dinner :(

x. so this generally sums up how i spent the eve of cny. pretty much just like every year, but enjoying every single bit of it!
x. did fewer visitations as compared to previous years, but well, we only have 2 days of cny public holidays! :(x. shall upload photos taken on cny itself real soon. pretty caught up with trying to catch up with school work :(x. can't wait for camp, but i think vacancies are not exactly filled up yet? who wanna do camp?!?!

so... i just came back from camp not too long ago, and my throat is hurting and nose is leaking... i wonder why -.- anyway, after being out of the scene for half a year, i sure felt rusty and old :( but i think i did my best and my kids enjoyed the camp? hahahahaha. well, i guess Rainforest is full of memories that i'll just have to live and deal with. too many many many things went on there and i guess what happens there really stays there. all the ups and downs, laughter and frowns.

i'm really surprised i'm still alive. it's pretty amazing how much a brain (and heart) can take. it's like living in a constant nightmare, all the daunting moments on repeat mode. don't know how much longer hell is gonna last, but i'm sure i'll survive this. dealing with hell every couple of days, i feel like i really need to escape from the surface of earth for awhile. okay, not so serious, maybe move out for awhile. serious, no joke. living in constant fear is killing me.

so have a happy sunday everyone! CNY is round the corner i feel like i still need to do rounds and rounds of shopping! omggggg $$$ !

Well seems like everyone has a "looking back at 2011..." post, so I MUST NO LOSE OUT. I'd say 2011 has been pretty good to me, although I had my fair share of ups and downs.

Took my first UOL exams and passed, lost some friends and forged better friendships, got to see some faces more clearly and realised some friendships are just not worth it, visited Perth during cold winter and felt the love of family even though I'm so faraway from home, genuinely loved the two princesses but happiness is just so short-lived, went diving in one of the world's top dive spots, proud owner of *, and the list goes on. In short, there's just so much to be thankful for.

No doubt everyone would think, maybe subconsciously, that "this year I'll do better than the last". I don't think there's anything I wanna undo about 2011, cause every experience is a milestone in my life. I wouldn't be who I am today without all this trials and tribulations. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, don't they? This i can't agree more.

I would say the last few moments of 2011 was probably the worst moments of the year, but hey, I survived them. Thank God for awesome people like my family, especially Jade, and friends, who may not know anything about what I'm going through but kept me company through the last of 2011. If there's one thing I'd really wanna undo, that would be one wrong decision that put me (and others) through hell for the past xx months. But hey, again, I survived them.

May 2012 be full of awesomeness. Study hard, play hard, dive hard. There's just so much to look forward to.

abrasion on my face after diving. thank god no scar left behind :)

of baby jellyfish stings, cuts and blisters. the itch (from the stings) was so bad i couldn't sleep at night. thank god they stopped itching. but now my hands and legs look super unsightly cause of the wounds. hope they heal really quick. i have enough battlescars i dont need more!

LAND BELOW THE WIND 2011

here to blog about my dive trip to Sipadan. seriously, awesome is an understatement. no wonder it's crowned one of the top 5 dive sites in the world. go proud to have been there, done that. no regrets, despite burning S$xxxx. will definitely go back again. it's a paradise on it's own. okay 'nuff of my blabbering. let the pictures do the talking!

at Changi Airport before flight(sssss). we had to fly from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu (KK), stay there for a night, then take another flight from KK to Tawau, then take a land transfer (approx. 1.5hr) to Semporna, and take a ferry (approx. 30min) to Seaventures, where we stayed for the next 4 nights.

our first meal in Malaysia! after checking into the hotel, Alex and I were totally famished. so we went to a coffee shop nearby for dinner. yes, Alex is my dive buddy for this trip. so glad he asked me along. i wouldn't know what i'll be missing out on if i hadn't been invited for the trip!
was kinda awkward initially, cause Alex and I were not exactly close. we only knew each other when we took our Open Waters (1.5yrs ago), and barely spoke to each other. it was like only 3 weeks prior to the trip that we started to whatsapp each other for the bookings and finalisations. so imagine having to eat, sleep, dive with him for an entire week! hahahaa but glad that the awkwardness didn't last long. we had the TIME OF OUR LIVES!

day 2 morning, finally arrived at Seaventures Dive Rig. it's an old oil rig, bought over and transformed into a dive "resort".

the cafeteria of the rig. i basically spent bulk of my time here. after every dive, i'll just sit here and bask in the sun to keep myself warm. hate how i always shiver after diving hahaha. we eat here, talk here, fill our log books here, talk here, and i dry my hair here! every night after bathing, i'll take my book and sit here and read while letting my hair dry. the wind's really strong and cold!

the lift! it's really cool. like we just stand on the platform and it'll be controlled to go up and down by the lift man. during high tide, the platform gets submerged into the water! so if we're going to dive around the rig, we can just float into the water without having to jump in!

SEA SNAKE!
i don't know if it's poisonous or what lah. but i definitely don't want the snake to go onto the rig and sit beside me during lunch, or worse, sleep with me!

luckily it was high tide. so the lift man lowered the platform into the water, SPLASH! and the snake swam away :)

finally went to Sipadan dive sites on our fourth day. it's truly amazing there. no artificial reefs, only seabed full of pretty corals, and clear blue water :) and large fishes. hahaha actually i was kinda bored after the second day of diving cause all the creatures are so small and hard to spot!

sea of barracudas! actually i saw a hammerhead shark but i forgotten to take a photo of it! by the time i wanted to swim towards it to snap a photo, it swam away into the deep blue :( HOW FRUSTRATING! ohwell, but i guess i was really lucky, cause hammerheads are really shy!

so on day 5, we took a 14:00hr ferry from the Rig to Semporna, then another 1.5hr land transfer to a hotel in Tawau where we stayed for a night. couldn't take a plane on the same day cause our bodies needed some time to let the air pressure to go back to normal (or something along that line lah. i forgotten all my theory hahaha!)

it was so sad to leave the Rig. i love everyone and everything there. the people were so friendly, everyone smiled and talked to each other. it's so relaxing to just sit there and bask in the sun/ sleep in the wind. can so get used to the EAT.SLEEP.DIVE. lifestyle. miss the night on the sun deck the most. the stars are truly amazing. seriously, if it weren't for my parents back at Home, i may very well extend my stay there till the end of holidays!

awesome seafood place that Mando recommended (not that i take seafood lah). but the food is really nice! and it only cost like RM73 for all the food we ordered. (Y) goodbyes are always sad. i never liked goodbyes :(

so this marks the end of my trip. i'll definitely want to go back to the Rig again. prolly during a New Year/ Christmas period cause i heard they have parties! that should be fun, right? but prolly not so soon, cause everything will still be unchanged and that would be... boring? maybe in 2-3 years' time!

went for daddy's business friend's company's annual dinner (quite a mouthful isn't it? hahaha. it's actually also a fund-raising dinner for a welfare hub, hence there's a lot of bidding going on! pretty interesting i would say, it's amazing what people do with their money. like few thousands for a bag of "发财" rice, and another tens of thousands on a quilt. ohwell, all in the name of charity! (Y)

eyes are super teary now. that's what i hate about my eyes. left eye tears non-stop if i stare at the computer/ tv screen for too long because of my lazy eye. and i look like i'm crying very badly hahaha. i'm so excited i'm going diving tomorrow wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! okay technically it's later. SIPADAN HERE I (finally) COME! everyone who's been to Sipadan told me that it's really worth the money and time going there cause it's just too awesome. hopefully i'll enjoy there as much as they did and come back with pretty photos!

A SAD STORY.

is there any better way to rest a heart, a weary soul, and a burnt mind? life's a turmoil i really don't wanna deal with it anymore. so glad i'm going diving this sunday. one whole week away from all the drama (i wish i can be away for much longer seriously). too close to giving up cause there's too much drama. maybe one last leap of faith will show what we are actually capable of. whether we build walls around ourselves, whether we break people around us, whether we crush ourselves. every time i tell myself it's the last i'm going to allow myself go through what i don't deserve, it's always never the last. tell me, is there a more subtle way to let the world know as much as i love surprises, i'm tired of them getting back-fired and getting disappointed time and again? tell me, it's not wrong to believe that too many wrongs don't make things right. tell me, is there a better way to bring my point across to the entire world that i'm too tired of waiting for things that lave long been promised and never come true? i'm tired of waiting, i need to live my life. i'm a 20 year old planning my life ahead. everything is falling into place, my future's gonna be great. nothing's gonna hold me back, nothing's gonna hold me down. things are gonna be great and i know it. i can smell it already. i don't want to be trapped in the present. this time round, my heart and my mind tells me the same thing. i know i'm getting there. let the drama unfold.

SUPERSTAR VIRGO #(lost count...)

okay gonna blog about the cruise trip with the family. it's like my... 5th? 6th? time on SuperStar Virgo already. kinda sian, cause everything's the same as the first time i was there! but those of you who haven't been before, i think it's a very nice experience! cause you get unlimited free food! from buffets to chinese restaurant to western restaurants! of course if you want to go to better restaurants then have to pay lah! and they have lotsa activities on board so everyone will be entertained at different times of the day! so anyway, still went and have fun with the family!

Hi all, I'm so exhausted lately cause exams are coming up. But I'm not complaining cause studying is my full-time job. Although it's only half-mocks but I still wanna study hard and score well :) don't understand why some people always say so tired from doing this and so busy from doing that when it's what they're supposed to do. Gays.

Anyhow the top scorer graduate from my school last year is earning a pay of $4.2k right now. That's even before getting called to the Bar. How awesome is that. I wanna be a top scorer too! Hahaha.

Why are humans so insecure? Why do they want to make their presence known? Like... "I wanna let everyone know who's the boss here. " I think it's stupid. C'mon, insecurities are such a turn off. What you really need is a baby-sitter. Pfffffttt.

Remember I blogged about a girl from my school who's in Coma and I asked for everyone who sees that post to pray for her? I got the news last night that she gave up struggling. Her family is devastated, but I hope she's feeling better now. Free from pain and in a better world. It still feels weird to know someone you know, albeit not close at all, leaving the world. Hope her family would have the strength to pull through this tough period.

Okay won't be blogging for long. In fact I'm typing this out on my phone. Hopefully I can blog about my cruise trip before I head for diving. I think I'm too free-spirited for my own good. Like I don't like being tied down by commitments/ people/ circumstances. I like to do what i like. I can't really be bothered whether anyone disagrees with what I'm doing actually haha. Wonder if I'll be missed. Of course it's nice to be missed, but even if I'm not I don't really care? Oops.

celebrated jasper's birthday at Wild Oats. been wanting to visit this place for a long time, but haven't gotten down to it. pretty satisfied with the food and ambience there! was kinda skeptical at first, cause of the mixed reviews online. like over-costly, slow serve (45min for the food?!), not nice food, etc. but still, we went ahead and gave it a try and never regretted. even the folks liked that place/ the food!

it's located within punggol park, and is not air conditioned. despite that, it wasn't warm at all! we got a seat beside the lake and in fact it was pretty breezy. not sure whether it's because of the fans or the weather that night though.

outfit of the day. and i threw the dress away cause i think it's not nice hahaha.

very dark + quiet park. would be very scared if i were to jog here alone at night!

chicken wings with "special" chilli. just very spicy chilli in my opinion. the wings were crispy and nice when eaten piping hot!

luncheon meat fries. very special cause i've never seen this elsewhere!

hongkong (instant) noodles, looking normal.

i had this sausages with black pepper sauce. was very yummy! the sausages were thick and soft. yumz! such a pity the fries were just normal :/

steak. did not try but mommy said it's nice! the mushroom sauce comes with a lot of pieces of mushrooms!

my maid cooked this and i couldn't stop eating. kinda scraped up all the chili and ate it (without rice). i'm so turned on by good food omg.

I'm sure everybody has a "friend", whom you see everyday, but never spoke to each other, never smiled, never acknowledged each other's presence. Don't we?

There's this girl in my school. Let's call her D for easy reference. I didn't like her, and I'm sure she doesn't like my group of friends too. We think she's weird, and... weird. She had a stuck up face. Not sure whether she's really stuck up or she's just born with that face. But yeah, we kinda hated her.

Yesterday, one of my lecturers texted me, and told me that D is is ICU, and in very critical condition. Upon learning more, I learnt that she had a brain infection and caused her brain to swell. She's in coma now, and if she regains consciousness, she may be in vegetative state.

No one deserves to end up in such a state. Maybe if I still see her around in school today, we still wouldn't talk, smile at each other or even acknowledge each other's presence. I'll still think that she has a stuck up face. We'll still hate each other. But still, no one deserves to be in such a state.

So the only thing we can do now is to pray in whatever faith we believe in, and hope that she'll turn out fine. She's only 21, still a long way to go in life. Hope she'll have the willpower to rise over this crucial period, pray that her family will have the strength to see through this obstacle.

I have 1.505 "friends" on my Facebook, 211 followers on twitter, and about 60 unique hits in my blog per day. Some of you are my friends, my ex-campers, friends of friends, mere acquaintances or even complete strangers. Whoever we are, and wherever we may be, let's hope for the best.

did a programme for Singtel. very no-brainer programme hahaha. like just stand at the station and wait for teams to arrive and tell them their task. so half the time i'm just standing there trying to look pretty and getting paid hehehe.

okay one thing i really cannot stand when doing programmes is inefficiency. like seriously. in-charge not arriving slightly earlier (let's be reasonable, 10min give and take. okay right?), not even on time, but LATE. yes, this one really cannot stand. like supposed to meet at 8, but no one is there at 8. SMS-ed the fellow, no reply. waited for 10 more minutes or so then the fellow starts strolling in, thinking about how to do the set up and stuff. i mean... okay whatever. super unprofessional IMHO.

another inefficiency is the dispatching of instructions. this one really super turn off. like unclear instructions, then uncontactable when needed. c'mon, if you've ever been running around on the ground you should know how this feels right? why can't people just plan things properly and give proper instructions and REMAIN CONTACTABLE AT ALL TIMES? you'll never know what may happen when doing an event right? bad weather, casualties, losing the way, blablabla. urghhhhhhhhhhh.

this was how we celebrated jordan's birthday this year :) instead of the usual restaurants, we decided to go to mind's cafe for dinner + games. the food there really sucks, like not so-so, it's really SUCKS. hahahaha so if you wanna go there i suggest you dining somewhere else first before heading there. but it's nice though, having a place to play games with the family (something that we don't usually do)!

foodzzz. each set comes with main + salad/ soup + free flow drinks. should have eaten somewhere else and just get the set with free flow drinks instead! :(

visited Next Door Deli last weekend, opened by Pine Garden Cake House. i loved their cakes, like really really loved them, so decided to give this quaint little cafe a try. not too bad, the ambience was cool and quiet. however they had pretty limited food choices :( hopefully they'd come out with more in the near future!

very "chillax" interior hahaha. good for those who just wanna sit down and eat + talkkkkk!

took on a one-day event job with huishi, and it was seriously good money i assure you hahaha. we were paid by the hour just to sit and the reception and do little administrative stuff, like taking note of certain people who were at the workshop and collecting forms. other than that, we basically stuffed our faces with food!

such a pity we've kinda drifted ever since after we stopped cheerleading. that was perhaps the second most fun memories for me in AJ. (most fun times were always with ODAC) man, we loved cheerleading, and always looked forward to cheer practice after school, even though we had to practice till 8/9 pm, until it was so dark and we were so tired and exhausted, and had to wake up to school feeling like zombies and still continue to go for training hahaha. few pictures of Cougar back in those days :-

went to TWG for afternoon tea with mommy. was walking around town and wanted to just sit down somewhere to rest + drink something so i suggested TWG inside taka. i'm glad i did, cause it was awesome! like the place was so "atas" hahaha. they have like... hundreds of different teas we didn't even know how to order!

ordered the TWG Club Sandwich for both of us to share. very yummy sandwich, soft bread and nice fillings. Only ordered this cause we needed to save our tummies for buffet dinner!

Dinner was at Riverview Hotel. was looking for international buffet and googled random and found this! i'd say that the buffet is pretty decent, even though the hotel doesn't even look posh or high class or anything. they also have al fresco dining area along the singapore river, but we sat at the air-conditioned area.

one part of the buffet line. was to shy to walk over and take photos hahaha. but they have special stuff like char siew and roasted meat upon request. and it's part of the buffet! they also have crabs, sushi, salads, breadsssss, apart from the usual buffet food. and not forgetting, CAKES!
will definitely go back and try their lunch!

today was such an unlucky day lah seriously. spot that little blade on the floor?

so the story went like this: i was walking to the mrt station when i suddenly felt like my right shoe kept kicking my left ankle. i thought like my sandals came loose or something so i tried to walk properly but still didn't work. then i was thinking why my shoe so sharp -.- but i still didn't stop and look. just tried to walk carefully until i reached the train station. i examined my left ankle and saw the scrapes. not deep at all, but like 7-8 of them -.- and kinda hurts lah. and i still didn;t sense anything. just thinking "since when did my shoes become so sharp?!?!" then, i randomly saw a blade under my right shoes and i thought i was stepping on it so i tried to move away but OMG. THE BLADE WAS STUCK TO THE SOLES OF MY SHOES! omgwtffmlknn. MY LIFE SUCKS.

my poor little left ankle. i still have no idea how i picked the blade -.-

one morning, i woke up as usual and checked my twitter timeline, reading it as i went about my morning and i realise there's something trending. okay not really trending, but there were so many retweets about someone needing blood transfusiong or something.
it read something like:

"urgently in need of blood at the Singapore Blood Bank. please head to HSA and state that you're donating blood for Tan Boon Chong, NRIC SxxxxxxxxX "

it was retweeted so many times i couldn't ignore it. it has to be something urgent right? so i went to google about this Tan guy and i got this:

omg do y'all recognise him? well, i do. i didn't know his name though, but i knew he was a channel 8 actor. although not an A-lister, but i remember i've seen him on tv when i was young. so i did more "research" and found this:

THIS MUST BE URGENT. i mean... if it wasn't urgent, mediacorp wouldn't have emailed its staff and ask them to donate blood and risk them trying to "chao geng" using that excuse right? so me being me, did further "research" and found out that this guy has leukemia. BLOOD CANCER. *revelation*

i was pretty shocked to learn that, although it wasn't like i knew him in any way lah. so i decided to be super brave and kind and heroic, i went to the blood bank and wanted to donate blood (since i'm also due to donate blood on the 20th lah. so i was kinda "late" hahaha).

having done all the tests and queuing up, i went home disappointedly (-.-) cause i had too little iron in my blood. like my reading was 12.1 when the acceptable range was >12.5. so my blood was refused and i had to go home :( sigh, having donated 5 times this is really the first when i can't donate :"(

so people, go on and donate blood/ platelets if you're >45kg and healthy and all! help save lives!

went to Rocky Master for dinz before facial. never eaten there before although jaDe has been talking about it ever-so-often. gotta admit the food there is really yummy and healthy!

jaDe's chicken sandwich in wholemeal bread. very nice, like the chicken was very thinly sliced and not oily at all! very generous amount of filling too!

this is my all-american-breakfast! comes with two slices of bread too. this is so yumz! like the bacon is not the usual bacon we have. it's baked so it's very crispy and not oily. even the hash brown too! no oil taste at all, so doesn't make you feel super bloated/ pukey after eating :D

sometimes i get so fed up with things i really don't know what to do anymore. ohwell, today is sunday, my most hated day of the week. not because tomorrow's monday, but because today being sunday. i used to spend my sundays studying and doing more studying. i thought today may be the last few sundays i'll get to enjoy before school starts full blast again. i guess i was wrong. i'm so pissed and angry with myself, thinking i could plan something today, just go out and chill, but nothing's turning out right (yeah still at home blogging when it's almost 2pm. you get the drift.). fucking hell, i'm tired of putting plans on hold just because some may (or most of the time, may not) crop up. fml.

revised timetable for school not out yet, this is driving me crazy. i'm actually quite looking forward to go back to school, minus the insane studying of couse. maybe when school keeps me busy, someone will be enlightened about the shit i go through these days, especially weekends.

here are photos from perth, since i can't get to sleep (i wonder why). it was summer when i went there last year, this year it's winter! not snowing kinda winter though, just super cold winds and sometimes rain. it's really terrible at night, cause i can't really take the cold, but it's fun! i like winter!

met many fun people there, and was sooooooo reluctant to say goodbye. and now, photos captions.

lester (huishi's bf) and huishi picked us up at the airport. it was soooooo cold. the winds made me feel like i wasn't wearing anything. mad cold! headed straight to aunty anna and uncle trevor's (lester's uncle) place. they had an extra room so we counld stay with them. how kind of them right! really easy-going and loving old couple <3

this trip is certainly different from my trip last year. the Diek's have been super friendly and welcoming. love these people. teared a little when it was time to say goodbye, who would want to say goodbye to such awesome people? aunty anna and uncle trevor's place must be all quiet once again, since they live on their own and have no children. they have taken such good care of us, making sure we have our meals and sleep well, what else can i ask for? miss uncle fred and aunty gerry, they're such nice people, very chatty and fatherly-motherly. and carmen, can't stop talking and very very animated (and pretty!!!). missing huishi already, such a pity we only got closer like... last year? should have got closer sooner! and lester, who has no complaints about having to drive us to and from the airport.

must visit them again, soon. xoxo.

August 18, 2011, 12:56 hello all, haven't blogged for quite some time, been buzzing around mainly with preparation for Perth trip and school and enjoying life :) here are many many overdue pics, from chilling at ECP, to impromptu high tea, to random pics taken all over the place. enjoy! :Ddinner before school one day.feeling all sianz -.-act cute o_oprolly one of the last few pics taken at the old house!mrZ's cousin got us this from Batam. and for this, mrZ had to buy phone cover haahahhaa!classic expression to get me out of trouble. hehehehe.********************************met up with weesiong one day for lunch. caught up quite a bit!ahhhh i look like crap whatever.************************************chilling at ECP before mrZ's soccer session.favourite photo thus far.should have brought a beach towel/ picnic mat along, so that we could sit down properly without worrying about phones getting buried in sand -.-**********************************impromptu high tea with mommy and the kids one sunday (i think).had buffet dinner here before, and thought it was not bad. cheap fair variety of food. so decided to come here for high tea too! such a pity we went a little late. havent got to eat the pastries and we had to leave cause the restaurant had to prepare for dinner :(afterwhich, walked around while waiting for mrZ and had andersen's :)

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY! okay this came in a bit late lah, but whatever :D wooooohooooo! totally wore red for national day so happy! tried to make the whole family wear red but... meh. anyways, I LOVE SINGAPORE!

went to visit this old villa which is about to be demolished cause developers bought the piece of land for... developments? so there was an open house and we went to visit. pretty interesting, worth googling about! it's more or less about this huge-ass house with long history. and it's split into two parts, the youngest son lived in one and the old couple lived in the other. the modern part is like... normal? like most of the houses we see today. the older part is the interesting one. all the old wardrobe, toilets, rooms, furniture, basically everything. phototaking was not allowed inside, so i stole a few shots hahahah!
